Maureen Sullivan (Glaspey)
1949-1999



     Maureen Elizabeth Sullivan was born July 3, 1949 in Houston, Texas. 
She was the daughter of  Herbert John Sullivan (1918-1991) and Kathleen Josephine Winnett Sullivan (1915-1970).  


     She married Richard P. Freer (1946-2019), in 1968 in Galveston, Texas, and divorced in 1971.  She was living in Colorado by 1974.  She was She married Chauncey Roger Glaspey (1936-2007), on Aug. 18, 1981 in Adams Co., Colorado. 

     Maureen passed away on December 31, 1999 in Thornton, Adams Co., Colorado.  She was 50 years old.

I'm afraid that Maureen is one of my saddest memories from high school... though I may be thinking as much of junior high...

 

I recall at various times, but in band in particular, that I participated in whisperings, name-calling and the perpetual chant that she "had cooties".

 

It was unfair, unkind, and cruel... and I imagine it made her school days an ongoing torment.

I hope not. I hope it has just been blown-up in my distorted memories... but I wish I remembered being kinder. She deserved better than me for a classmate.

Hank Hauffe, I don't remember or was aware of what you mentioned above.  But, I do know that we were all young and did foolish things we deeply regret.      
My memory of you in high school is that you were always smiling, kind, and well liked.  You were so fun to be around because you were hilarious!
