James Lowe
         1849-2017


James Merwyn Lowe was born Nov. 29, 1949 in Harris County, Texas.  He was the son of Merwyn Jacob Lowe and wife, Wanda Jean Graham Lowe.

Fairbanks Police Department is saddened to hear of the passing of retired Lt. Jimmy Lowe. Lt. Lowe came to work at FPD in May of 1972 and retired on October 23rd, 2005 with over 33 years of service. Lt. Lowe had been residing in Texas with his wife after retirement.

Lt. Lowe was a beloved member of the department and helped to instruct and mentor several generations of Fairbanks Police officers. Lt. Lowe was an avid outdoorsman and firearms enthusiast. His loss is felt by current and former members of the Department nationwide. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Nancy.
