Danna Mcnair "Danny" Blagrave, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Blagrave of 9006 Theysen Drive in Spring Branch, passed away Saturday at Hermann Hospital as the result of a car accident Friday near Hempstead.

Danny loved to hunt and fish and was returning from a fishing trip at the time of the accident.
He was a junior at Spring Woods High School, having played on the junior varsity football team this past season. Coach John Garrison of Spring Woods had high hopes for using Danny as a guard on the varsity team this fall. Coach Garrison said, “Danny was a real fine all-American boy. He worked hard and was never a minute’s trouble. We wish we had a lot more like him.”

Danny is survived by his mother and father, two brothers, Denny and Dale, two grandmothers and a grandfather, and many other relatives and friends.

Danny was an active member of St. Timothy’s Methodist Church, where services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, with Rev. James H. Jones and Rev. Francis Fischer officiating.
Burial was at Memorial Oak Cemetery.

Danny was just like all of us, bullet-proof and un-hurtable. We used to play football in his back yard, mainly because his family was about the only one without fences, so there was plenty of room. Gary Krone, Randy Wright, and others used to participate in the games from the yard. I remember he used to have a gas meter in his back yard, and man you beter know where it was at all times, because it would hurt you if you forgot! Denny,Danny's brother, was one of the best offensive linemen to ever play at Spring Woods, some of you may remember him. Anyway, we'll all miss you Danny...Bruce
